SWAT team cordoned off an area surrounding the Carmike 8 theater in Antioch, Tennessee, at 1:13pm on Wednesday afternoon after movie-goers alerted nearby officers to the gunman who walked in wearing a surgical mask. A short time later the 51-year-old man from the area, who has not yet been identified, was shot dead by police after escaping the theater out of the back. A 58-year-old man was injured after they were attacked with the axe while two women - aged 53 and 17 - were treated for chemical exposure at the scene after the inside of the theater was covered in pepper spray. It comes just two weeks after John Russell Houser open fired in a Lafayette, Louisiana, theater - killing two people and injuring nine - during a showing of the Amy Schumer movie Trainwreck.
