Chinese Tourists' Visit Will Boost The Thai Economy During The Chinese National Holidat

During the first week of October, 1st until the 7th, China marks a one week public holiday. This is known as China National Day. And for the Chinese this is a welcoming holiday as they can spend time with their families.

This year (for the China National Holiday period) Thailand expects up to 900,000 Chinese Tourists, previous years numbers were as low as 500,000. 2015 is a welcoming year for Thailand, as problems surge with the Chinese currency - the Chinese are looking for cheaper holidays which are closer to home. So where better to visit than the land of smiles. A short plane trip and they are in Bangkok.
This Chinese National holiday is similar to the Spring Festival Holiday or Chinese New Year. Last year it was reported that during the Chinese National Holiday, a lot of the tourists went to Britain and spent over £50,000,000. This is due to the tax-relief they get as they live outside the EU. There were stories of Chinese Girls flying to London Heathrow, not even going to a hotel, and going straight to the Capital to spend all of their money in shops like Harrods. It was so busy in fact, retailers had to hire Mandarin Translators. This year there will most likely be a lot less tourists to London during the Chinese National Holiday. As the spending power weakens they choose to holiday closer to home. Who could blame 'em?
