My Thoughts on Bangkok

Since arriving here in Bangkok, I haven't done too much sight seeing - this isn't because there's nothing to see, I mean it's a massive place, with lot's to do - drinking, river boat rides, snake farms and a lot more.
I find everything to in your face; people - Tuk-Tuk drivers everywhere, always trying to stop you, always wanting business from you. You can't walk 100 meters without being stopped, they pull up beside you to try and get business. Top Tip - do not make eye contact with them. And you don't want to be rude as a visitor to their country, but after so many asking you its hard not to be.
And then there's the busy streets, mopeds everywhere, cars everywhere - nice cars too, bicycle's, buses, trucks, the same as any other city but this really does seem too much in your face.
Everywhere you look there's food stalls. The pavements are crammed with them. You can barely walk down some of the streets because of this. China Town particularly is mental, insane, about a million billion trillion gadget shops, food stands, people and pollution.
One thing I don't like here is the smell its a mix of pollution and food. I'm not saying its a bad place to be - its not - there are quieter place's like my guest house its on one of the many side streets, its fairly local too, and the community spirit here is great. Just across the road from my guest house there's a bar, a restaurant who never have baked beans and a little old lady who cooks the best Thai food. They share custom to and help each other out. There's a local stray dog who wonders around aimlessly everyday, just doing what he wants he'll just rest in the middle of the road. The local kids play out for all hours, as its quite safe for them - they were playing badminton the other night and my Japanese friend wanted to join in so we went over and they loved it because they whooped the Japanese, my friend was rubbish.
It comes as no surprise - as the population is well over 6 million people in Bangkok. There's so much going on - the average tourist will love it!!
